Gold Coast student Anthony Horgan wins gold at the recent beginners tournament held on the Sunshine Coast. Anthony won the Adult white belt to 5th kyu kata performing the kata - Kihon Kata Ichi, Anthony impressed the judges with his clean technique, power and zanchin.

Anthony also competed in the kyu grade kumite coming fourth. Competing against the eventual winner, a brown belt with a number of years competition experience behind him, Anthony performed strongly pushing the match to the limit.

Anthony has been training in Chito-Ryu karate for 3 ½ months and is currently a white belt. This was the first tournament Anthony has competed in.
