A terrific result for Queensland and in particular GCCK at the ICKFA National Titles. All Queensland members performed extremely well with many medals for the team. The Queensland Team won the kumite with Adam Higgins, Anthony Horgan & Helen O’Grady beating the NSW team.

In the individuals Anthony won silver in his kata division. In the kumite Anthony stepped up in to the senior division due to lack of competitors for his level. In the first fight Anthony drew Shane Kerr from Sydney the eventual winner. Anthony pushed Shane all the way and went very close to creating a boil over.

Adam won silver in the kata and in the kumite lost to Shane Kerr in the final, in what was once again a very close fight that could have gone either way.

Shane Kerr was named overall champion of the ICKFA Nationals for winning both the senior kata and kumite divisions.
