|TEENS KARATE (13-19 yrs)
Kick start your life
The Gold Coast Chito-Ryu Karate Teens Classes provide training, guidance and development for teenagers during these very important years of life. Gold Coast Karate is the perfect place for teenagers to learn karate in a safe environment. The classes use the traditional style of Chito-Ryu Karate-Do as their base teaching all aspects of the martial arts including respect, humility and self-discipline each essential for the development into adulthood.
Unfortunately today’s world is not always safe but we believe with the right values and understanding a karateka (one who does karate) should never find themselves in a dangerous situation, however if they do Gold Coast karate teaches self-defense in a practical way to ensure an effective technique whilst always understanding the appropriate force for every situation that a student may unfortunately find them self in.

Young People Are Our Future
Our Future Leaders .......We view karate as a means for developing skills for life; our program develops healthy lifestyle habits through regular exercise, self motivation, focus and confidence. Through training in karate you learn respect for yourself and for others, key components of a happy healthy lifestyle. The karate ranking system is a natural way of developing leaders, the responsibility of the senior belts to provide a good example and to help the younger belts is an important component of the Teenage Karate program and forms an important part of developing the leadership skills that will develop strong leaders for the future.

Gold Coast Karate also participates in tournaments providing a great way for students to test their skills and develop an understanding of winning and losing, and reward for effort. As part of the Chito-Ryu Karate family students have the opportunity to compete on a local, state, national and international level.
The Gold Coast Karate Teenage classes are combined with the Juniors (green belt and above) and the Seniors. This provides our teenagers an opportunity to bridge the age gap from children to adult via training and interacting with both age groups. As they become more comfortable with adults the ability to interact on a meaningful level develops, whilst in the Junior/Teen class the understanding of what is required to interact with children also develops.
